Track and Field is a sport designed for athletes of all abilities. All athletes compete in the meets. Track and field involve a variety of activities from running to jumping and throwing. Running events include short sprints up to the 3200-meter run. Jumping events include the long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault. Throwing events include the shot put and discus.
Track and Field is open to all interested athletes. It is a grade nine through twelve programs. Not previous experience is required to join the team. The season traditionally starts on the second Monday of March and runs to the last weekend of May. With the state meet on the first weekend in June.
The program is set up for all athletic abilities. Of the meets scheduled the majority of them are for all athletes to compete in. We do have some limited entry imitational meets that we attend for the top athletes of our program.
Our coaching philosophy is to make you the best athlete that we can in the events that you have selected to compete in. Our goal as coaches is to make you a better athlete in track and field or to make you a better athlete in your other sport.
